Thought for the Day: Yesterday morning, despite getting one hour less of sleep, I thought I was doing pretty well…and then the 11:00am service hit. Have you ever been feeling good one moment, and the next moment, you feel like you have been hit by a small winnebago? In those moments, I won’t suggest that suddenly God will provide some infusion of strength. In fact, I’m pretty sure God’s suggestion would be to get more sleep. With that said, God is the One who is at work to provide power and strength to those who cannot imagine taking another step because of grief, injustice or fear. More than once, I have heard those who were facing great difficultly describe being gifted with an unexpected blessing of resilience. This kind of gift assumes we are already tapped into the One who is the source of such blessing.
Prayer: Let this be the moment, God, in which I renew my relationship with you, a relationship by which I find the strength to do the good works you would have me do. Amen.
