Ecclesiological Etchings

Scripture: Isaiah 58:10
…if you open your heart to the hungry, and provide abundantly for those who are afflicted, your light will shine in the darkness, and your gloom will be like the noon.

Thought for the Day: What would it be like for gloom to become like the noon hour? It wouldn’t be gloom anymore, or maybe it would be a redemption or reclaiming of the gloom. I want to live in a world where gloom doesn’t stand a chance. It may arrive and make an appearance, but its life expectancy is short. According to Isaiah, such a world is not all that far fetched. In fact, it is as close as those who open their hearts to the hungry and provide abundantly for those who are afflicted.

Prayer: Make my life a reflection of your light, O Abundant and Grace-filled God. Allow for my life-choices to be an instrument by which your light shines. Amen.
