Scripture: 1st Corinthians 13:4
Love is patient, love is kind…
Thought for the Day: Love is unselfish, long-suffering, faithful and steadfast. Not one of these is a characteristic of human nature. Love springs forth from God. I John 4:8 tells us, “God is Love.” As we accept His Son, Jesus Christ, His Spirit dwells in us. The Spirit of Love bubbles up and spills over to change our human nature into a Godly nature. We were like dry sponges: hard, unyielding and unable to fulfill our purpose. As we absorb the “springs of love”, they wash away the hate, envy, hurt and darkness the world has left in us. Suddenly, our dry and narrow hearts expand with the moisture of love and we find ourselves changed. We are no longer hard, but pliable and easy for God to use. We find through our new flexibility we become emissaries of His love.
Prayer: O God of Love, wash away the things of the world that have left us unusable and fill us with Godly springs of love. Let our natures be changed. Help us be Your moisture of love in our world. Amen
