The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.
Thought for the Day: You’ve probably heard someone say, “I just need to turn this over to the Lord.” I appreciate those words, and there are moments when the situation we face leaves us with absolutely no control. All the stressing and sleepless nights will not make a lick of difference, and those are moments for us to turn it over to the Lord. With that said, I hear those words used when people do not wish to take responsibility or when they are feeling very frustrated. I can truly understand, but how often have we ignored opportunities because we had washed our hands of any liability or culpability? Faith is an invitation into partnership, and though we may not control the outcome or even very many of the metaphorical balls in the air, there is almost always something we can do…especially if we allow the Lord to direct our steps.
Prayer: By your guiding spirit, O God, let me find the things I can control while relinquishing what I cannot. Amen.
