Scripture: Psalm 86:11-12
Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart to revere your name. I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.
Thought for the Day: An old actress (now deceased) by the name of Joy Page said, “Denying, rejecting, judging or hiding from any aspect of your total being creates pain and results in a lack of wholeness.” The world is always attempting to fracture us. We often hear someone say, “He’s two-faced,” which is usually describing an individual who lives differently depending upon the circumstance. At first, such choices may feel necessary, but a life that continues to be divided against itself will be fractured to the core. An artist by the name of Anish Kapoor, says, “We live in a fractured world. I’ve always seen it as my role as an artist to attempt to make wholeness.” I believe God uses art within the context of worship (music, sculpture, painting, architecture and dance) to bring us back to the original wholeness of our creation.
Prayer: You created me through your undivided self, O God of oneness, and I seek your healing spirit that all the fractured pieces of my life might be mended. Amen.
