Scripture: Proverbs 16:3
Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.
Thought for the Day: Carl Sandburg wrote, “Nothing happens unless first we dream.” I want to dare you to dream; I want to challenge you to seek the dream God is dreaming for you; I want to invite you to risk some discomfort and possible apprehension in discovering the dream God has envisioned for you. I’m certain you have already heard about our Dare to Dream project beginning this Easter, April 5. I hope you will dare to dream, challenging yourself, and risking the idea that there is a God-sized goal for your life. Starting Easter Sunday and for the following five Sundays, I will preach on this topic. There will be a book to read, and engaging questions for reflection. But most important, there will be small group opportunities where you and other seeking spirits will come together for encouragement in this marvelous adventure. I can’t guarantee you the giddiness many of the staff are feeling as we have finished the study ourselves, but I am certain that if you are intentional about this project, something pretty amazing will happen. I can’t tell you what it will be, for if I did, it wouldn’t be God’s dream.
Prayer: Come, Holy Spirit, and lead us into a time of dreaming. Connect us anew with your future-focus that will provide the courage needed to embrace these wonderful gifts. Amen.
