Prayer for the Week:
In a world where gratitude is more etiquette than awestruck admiration, I pause with the intent of naming those gifts worthy of my praise and gratefulness. O Giver of Good Gifts, let an awareness of you and your goodness grow within me. Assist me as I move beyond what we might call the traditional senses, so that a heightened spiritual sense may emerge. There is something within me that wishes to know and appreciate who you are, O Gracious God, and all that you do in my life. Awaken within me a mindfulness that is not consumed with what the world lifts up as important, but a mindfulness that is drawn to the acts of love that are rooted in your gift of love, Jesus Christ. In my recognition, I know an awestruck admiration will emanate from within me. This is my prayer as one who hopes to move beyond proper etiquette for the purpose of giving you, O Lord, all the glory. I offer this in the name of your human revelation, Jesus Christ. Amen.
