Scripture: 1st John 1:4
We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.
Thought for the Day: Tonight (Tuesday evening), I am writing this devotional so my joy may be complete. My joy tonight is connected to our church’s Prison Ministry, and the breath-taking impact we are having on the lives of women who are incarcerated. I am blessed by those who give so much of their time to make the program happen, including my compadres from earlier today – Jerry, Sarah and Carl (I mean, Clay… inside joke). The laughter and the tears, the words of praise and the affirmations of self-worth were signs of the Gospel’s power. Those women are going to be forever changed by the experience, and their outlook on life beyond prison is hopeful. Tonight, I am writing this devotional so my joy may be complete. Thank you for allowing me to share my joy.
Prayer: What an amazing thing you are doing, Mighty God, through our Prison Ministry. Thank you for willing hearts who volunteer to share their gifts. And thank you for the women who choose to participate, and their willingness to be open to the movement of your grace-filled Spirit. Amen.
