Scripture: Psalm 119:2
Happy are those who keep his decrees, who seek him with their whole heart…
Thought for the Day: It’s as simple as that! We must seek God with our whole being. Period! A divided self pulled between multiple allegiances will quickly fracture. The scripture seems clear, but it is much easier to say it or write it than to do it. We are constantly being pulled multiple ways by so many competing powers. Somewhere amidst the craziness is the divine tug, but too often God is the One who is ignored. The author of the Psalm writes, “Happy are those…” and I think people are happier when their hearts are not being splintered by the many separate powers. In the end, I think seeking God with our whole heart will take a lifetime, and even then, we will not have perfected it. Yet, the more you work at it, the more you will find God. The more you find God, the happier you will be.
Prayer: By your mercy, O God, I will try to focus one more piece of my life upon you. Amen.
