Scripture: Matthew 25:36
I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.
Thought for the Day: There are moments in ministry where the work of the congregation is the source of great pride. Of course, scripture cautions us about pride and its ability to blind us, but this past Tuesday, I was very proud of Cypress Creek Christian Church. For a number of years now, members of the church have done an amazing work of grace-filled ministry with women who are in prison. On Tuesday, I witnessed firsthand the work of this program, and more importantly, the lives of individuals who were moved by the message of God’s unconditional love. I’m not suggesting we become egotistical about this program as it is made possible only by God’s grace, but the people who volunteer their time are a true witness to that grace. They will soon begin a new session, and I know the evening group is looking for a few new volunteers…and maybe you’re that person. Let me just add, I doubt there are too many other ministries where you will find an equal sense of fulfillment. Thanks to everyone who has done and will share in this ministry!
Prayer: For all who say ‘yes’ to bringing the Good News to those who are in prison, I give you thanks, O Lord, for you are the One who initially inspired such work. Amen.
Continuing with our Easter theme…
