Scripture: Luke 24:13-16
Now on that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and went with them, but their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
Thought for the Day: The big day has come and gone. It is the day after Easter, and most people have returned to work, school or whatever the usual thing is. On our way to whatever, do we notice Jesus who comes near? Do we see him come alongside us so he can continue the journey with us? Easter has come and gone, but the good news of the resurrection remains true even after Easter. The resurrected Christ desires to be known to us along the way. Don’t miss him being known in acts of compassion, love, acceptance and forgiveness.
Prayer: O Lord God, make me an Easter person beyond the 24-hours usually assigned to the holiday. Amen.
LET IT BEGIN!
