Ecclesiological Etchings

Scripture: Jeremiah 44:4
Yet I persistently sent to you all my servants the prophets, saying, “I beg you not to do this abominable thing that I hate!”

Thought for the Day: Predictability can be rather boring, except when it comes to the love of God.  I think the prophets, and a few years later, Jesus, went out of their way to demonstrate the tenacity of God.  How God might demonstrate and bring to life this amazing gift of love can never be predicted, but the unconditional and everlasting nature of this love should never surprise us.  There are some people who enjoy keeping others in a state of uneasiness, always using restricting and deficient adjectives to describe the capacity of God’s love.  To them, God sends another prophet or servant to announce, “Love knows no boundaries or limitations.”

Prayer: Lord, for your tireless resolve, I give you thanks and pray that when I am given the opportunity to share your love, it will have no restraints or limitations.  Amen.
