Scripture: Isaiah 41:10
Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
Thought for the Day: I have spoken these words of scripture in many different settings. From the hospital room to the funeral home, they have been heard by those who felt as if they had been swept into the chaos. I do not believe these words have any magical power to calm the chaos, but a few people have asked for a written copy of the scripture. For some of them, it became a daily mantra that reinforced a central conviction of the faith. No matter what the world throws at us, God will remain faithful. No matter how crazy life may become, God is on our side. No matter how hopeless the future may seem, God will have the final word. Do not fear, for God is with you!
Prayer: Though fear may come over me, Lord, I know you walk with me into every circumstance of life. Amen.
