Scripture: Philippians 1:29
For God has graciously granted you the privilege not only of believing in Christ, but of suffering for him as well
Thought for the Day: Is God the source of suffering brought on by faithfulness? Some might suggest it is so, but I cannot imagine the God of eternal love and kindness wanting anyone to suffer. Of course, where such love and kindness exist, there will always be those who contest them. Suffering doesn’t come from God, but is caused by a world still in the process of learning to embrace the way of love. Our choosing to be faithful in light of the suffering produces a great witness for the sake of God’s reign. As strange as it might sound, it is a privilege to live faithfully by the grace of God, even when it might bring suffering upon us.
Prayer: Amidst all the torment life may produce, Lord, may I find the convictions of your grace so I may proclaim your realm where suffering does not have the final victory. Amen.
Thanks…
