Thought for the Day: Thank goodness! We have been given permission to ignore the real needs of humanity. We are to focus on heaven, and not earth. Okay, I’m being sarcastic. Unlike some who are focusing entirely on a place (heaven or earth), Paul is inviting us to focus ourselves on the essence of heaven: love, compassion, mercy and generosity. As we focus more completely on the heavenly things, the more these things will be made visible in our earthly setting. And you know, when you have made the heavenly things so much of who you are now, the move from this life to the next tends to be rather insignificant.
Prayer: Maker of heaven and earth, make me an instrument through which the glory of heaven touches the earth. Amen.
