When pride comes, so does shame, but wisdom brings humility.
Thought for the Day: Maybe it has never happened to you, but I have experienced a few bubble bursting moments. My ego was flying like a helium balloon on a long string. I was dancing in the air and enjoying the view, but then something unexpected punctured my skin and had me completely deflated. I remember a minister telling me years ago how the humble person never falls far for s/he is already about as far down as one can go. Now don’t confuse humility with low self-worth. Humility is a choice that comes through the wisdom of God – a wisdom that has presented the wonderful divine reversal where what was up is in fact down; what was high was in fact low; what appeared insignificant was in fact great.
Prayer: Continue to help me in my understanding of your Kingdom values, O Spirit of the Heavenly Life. Allow me to not only glimpse your vision for life, but to make a decision to follow it each and every day. Amen.
