Scripture: Romans 8:6
To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
Thought for the Day: The 12th century Benedictine monk, Hildegard of Bingen, wrote the following words:
Holy Spirit, making life alive, moving in all things,
root of all created being,
cleansing the cosmos of every impurity,
effacing guilt, anointing wounds.
You are lustrous and praiseworthy life,
you waken and re-awaken everything that is.
As we move closer to the Pentecost season (this coming Sunday) in which we celebrate the gift of God’s spirit, let us take the time to reflect on God’s presence as it is manifest in this holy way.
Prayer: O Holy God, grace me with your spirit of love and power. Amen.
