Scripture: Proverb 22:6
Train children in the way they should go; when they grow old, they won’t depart from it.
Thought for the Day: For the Klein School District, the school year is entering its final week. Like many of you, I have wonderful memories of the last week of school. Lots of energy, both students and teachers ready for the end, a bit of sadness as we said good-bye to friends, and of course, a desire to sleep in past 7am. Before the year ends, let me offer a word of gratitude for our teachers and support staff. Educators across this country have been working within a system that is not always friendly to their work. Educators have dealt with a lack of funding, text books written by politicians instead of scholars, parents who can’t believe their beloved child would do anything wrong, a push to teach toward a test instead of creating healthy and successful young people, etc. Yet for so many of these educators, they have continued to show-up everyday and find creative ways of inspiring and encouraging our young people. As a parent of one of those kids, I shout, “Thank you! You are making a difference!”
Prayer: Creator of Us All, wherever I can encourage an educator or student, please nudge me to do so. Wherever I can help shapes another human life, spur me to act. Amen.
