Ecclesiological Etchings

Scripture: Acts 2:37
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”

Thought for the Day: The large crowd had just experienced Pentecost’s spiritual explosion, and the reaction to all they had seen and heard was to look at Peter and the other Apostles and ask, “Brothers, what should we do?” I think too often we stand in the wake of a jaw-dropping Holy Spirit-filled moment wondering what to do next. Returning to life as it was is not possible, but moving forward will require dramatic changes. Our spirits find themselves reverberating by what has happened, and the unspeakable joy must find an outlet and purpose. The strength of this moment was that there was a community of people who was equally charged with divine presence. Whether your experience is with a large crowd or a few friends, ask the question: What should we do? And if your experience occurs while you are all alone, go find some folks who will listen and ask them the question. Don’t let that spiritual energy dissipate because it couldn’t find a use.

Prayer: Ignite my spirit, Holy God, and then push me toward those who will continue to fan that flame for the purpose of the Gospel.  Amen.

    Hi!

I LOVE this and wanted to press “Like” but there’s no button. Could you add a “like” button maybe?

Hope your Pentecost was awesome. We had a huge Agape feast and a wonderful, spirit-filled service. Also, my meeting with the COM went great last weekend.

Hope all is well with you. Miss you lots.

    Godspeed,

    Michael J.
