Scripture: Romans 2:4
Or do you despise the riches of God’s kindness and forbearance and patience? Do you not realize that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
Thought for the Day: Is God kind, tolerant and patient because it is the path to repentance -or- is God kind, tolerant and patient because that is who God is? I tend to think it is the latter, yet these marvelous attributes become the means by which all of creation turns toward God and the ways of God. If the world had no need to repent, God would still be kind, tolerant and patient. Yet because we are in need of some changes, it is good that God is kind, tolerant and patient.
Prayer: Your nature and character do not change, O Source of mercy and patience. By your loving kindness, guide my heart to the path of righteousness and faithfulness. Amen.
