Scripture: Romans 4:9
Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
Thought for the Day: This may sound a little arrogant, but Paul is not expressing conceit when he tells the Romans to keep doing the things they saw him do. Paul never suggest he was perfect, yet he understood how the Gospel was taught best by modeling and by example. Christianity has focused too much attention on communicating correct doctrine over right practices and just-living. It was Richard Rohr who echoed the ideas of others when he wrote, “True spirituality is not taught, it’s caught.” Let’s try to put ourselves around a few Paul-like folk, close enough to catch what they have.
Prayer: Provide me models of faithful living, O Lord of Light, so that in time, my life can become contagious to others. Amen.
