Scripture: Joshua 1:9
I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Thought for the Day: After the death of Moses, God called Joshua into leadership. Someone may feel ready and well prepared for such a task, but there are always those first day jitters. We can all relate to this experience: first day of school, new job or volunteer experience. Whatever the circumstance, we know God is with us in the same way God promised to be with Joshua. But how can we involve God in this new situation? It is more than simply knowing of God’s presence, but utilizing the divine presence for the blessing and enrichment of the new situation. And by just knowing that God’s presence is with me does not mean God is blessing what I am doing in this new situation.
Prayer: As you promise to walk with me, O Lord, may I acknowledge your presence and allow you to be a participant in all I do…especially in those new situations of life. Amen.
