Scripture: Psalm 25:9
The Lord leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way.
Thought for the Day: I love it when I read a piece of scripture, and within 10 minutes, I find myself reading something that directly relates. In this case, I had read the verse from Psalm 25, and then flipped to Facebook to find a CS Lewis quote posted by one of our church members, John Basel. It read, “True humility is not thinking less of yourself. It is thinking of yourself less.” When the Lord leads the humble, they are led with a love that genuinely values every human being. Though we might find ourselves in situations where we are belittled or denigrated, it is the Lord’s love that allows us to remain self-confident. That’s not cocky or arrogant, but we are so convinced by this love that we are able to remain humble and Christ-like no matter what comes our way.
Prayer: O Lord, the world might rough me up—spiritually, emotionally or even physically. May I never allow the world’s opinion of me to overshadow your loving appreciation of my life. Amen.
