Ecclesiological Etchings

Scripture: Romans 15:1-2
We who are strong ought to put up with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.  Each of us must please our neighbor for the good purpose of building up the neighbor.

Thought for the Day: As a parent, I do things a certain way because my son is watching.  Steps are added to the process or the speed of completion is dramatically altered.  Some people might think it is wasted time.  On the contrary!  Quite often it has little to do with the actual project, and everything to do with the relationship.  The same thing occurs in the life of the church as we mentor and teach one another.  Teaching someone how to prepare communion (or any task) may take longer than just doing it individually, but the relationship strengthened through the process helps to embody the message of communion itself.

Prayer: Give me the patience needed, Lord, so the Gospel can come alive in the simplest tasks of life.  Amen.
