Scripture: Psalm 92:1-4
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
Thought for the Day: Gratitude assumes the recognition of a gift. Billy Graham wrote, “I cannot take credit for whatever God had chosen to accomplish through us and our ministry; only God deserves the glory, and we can never thank him enough for the great things he has done.” I wonder if a lack of gratitude in my own life occurs when I think too much of my own accomplishments? Too often I forget that God was the initiator, the guide and the source of strength in all the good I have done.
Prayer: I desire a spirit that distinguishes your gracious work, O Lord, so any praise is heaped upon the One worthy of that praise. Amen.
