Thought for the Day: The other night, we gathered together with folks for some fireworks and good food. We enjoyed the fireworks and definitely the food. As a kid, the fireworks would have been the highlight…followed closely by the desserts. As an adult, I still enjoy the fireworks and the desserts, but I’ve come to realize that fireworks, desserts and other such things are often the tools around which we build friendships and relationships. At the end of the day, being surrounded by people who love, support and encourage us is perhaps the most important thing of all.
Prayer: Lord God, draw us together around good food and important rituals. Allow us to discover and build lasting relationships. Amen.
