Ecclesiological Etchings

Scripture: Psalm 25:16
Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.

Thought for the Day: How many of us are in need of a turn? Maybe it is only a few degree, but for others it could be 90 or even 180 degrees. The author of the Psalm suggests that God needs to do the turning, I find that to be a bit ego-centric. It suggests that God must have turned away, yet I cannot fathom how the One of unconditional love and unceasing mercy could ever turn away from us. Could it be that we are the ones who are off point a bit and need to readjust our direction? I tend to think so.

Prayer: May your Spirit, O Gracious God, turn me ever so gently toward you. If I appear to be set in my ways, it is ok to be a little less than gentle. Amen.
