Scripture: 1st John 4:11-12
Dear friends, if God loved us this way, we also ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. If we love each other, God remains in us and his love is made perfect in us.
Thought for the Day: I was looking up some songs on Youtube that dealt with the Love of God. Upon looking at the search suggestions, I laughed out loud. I know those around the office thought it was a bit strange that I was chuckling while looking at the computer. There might have even been some who thought I was watching one of those cat videos, but in this case, I was doing some real work. What made me laugh was the very first option in my search for songs about the Love of God. It was Bon Jovi’s You Give Love A Bad Name. I really don’t think the love of God gives love a bad name. If anything, the love of God gives love a good name and helps us to perceive the true nature of love. Let us continue to look to Jesus who is the visible expression of the invisible God…thus a good starting place for trying to determine what might give love a good name.
Prayer: Give me the vision to see you and your gift of love, O Merciful and Kind God. Amen.
