Scripture: Genesis 9:7-10
..the Lord said, “And you, be fruitful and multiply, abound on the earth and multiply in it.” Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him, “As for me, I am establishing my covenant with you and your descendants after you, and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the domestic animals, and every animal of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark.”
Thought for the Day: The divine-human covenant is an amazing gift as it reveals God’s desire to be in relationship with humanity. It might sound as if God wants it on God’s terms, and because it is God, that would be understandable. Yet the hope of covenant was always our benefit. The covenantal relationship always encourages us to be our best, and in doing so, we are better able to be the people we were created to be.
Prayer: I give you thanks, O God, for the covenant of grace. Help me to embrace the high calling of gracious living. Amen.
