Scripture: Psalm 95:6
O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
Thought for the Day: Yesterday, a tragedy occurred in a suburb of Milwaukee. A gunman entered a house of worship, opened fire, and killed six people. We do not know what precipitated this attack, but any violence committed toward a specific expression of faith should be seen as an attack on all expressions of faith. Faith, by its very nature, is a decision made freely. When violence or intimidation interferes with anyone’s ability to freely come and worship, it interferes with all who seek God. Let each of us match the passion we have for our individual belief with a passion to see all religions freely expressed.
Prayer: Our hearts break, O God, for those who have lost their lives to violence this weekend. May their death be a call for renewed tolerance and appreciation for those who express their faith differently. Amen.
