Scripture: 1st John 3:18
Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.
Thought for the Day: This past Saturday, I had a wedding at the church. It was a small, quiet service in the gazebo. It was rather hot, but that was not going to deter this couple from getting married, but something else nearly brought things to a screeching halt. There was a wasp’s nest in the gazebo, and there were a half dozen wasps who refused to leave us alone. Having someone get stung in the middle of the vows was not quite the image the couple had in mind when they dreamed of this day. Well in our moment of crisis, Jesse came to the rescue. Jesse is on staff at Cypress Creek Christian Church, and with some wasp spray and a fearless attitude, he made the gazebo wasp-free. And though delayed by 15 minutes, the service went off without any further problems. It may not seem like a big thing, but the staff at the church do a lot of little things that add up to some pretty big things. Today, I celebrate the staff at Cypress Creek Christian Church. The work some of them do may not be what most folks would define as traditional ministry, but making sure a wedding can go forward as planned is some really important ministry.
Prayer: We are thankful, Lord, for all the marvelous people who work behind the scenes to make sure your church is able to do what you have called it to do. Amen.
