Scripture: Ephesians 1:5-6
God destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace that he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
Thought for the Day: The Frogge household celebrated Gotcha Day this past Tuesday. For those who have never celebrated a Gotcha Day, let me explain. Nine years ago, Donna and I received a phone call from our adoption agency giving us the news for which we had been waiting eleven months. Zach had cleared the final step in the court system, and he was our son. There were hugs and tears and phone calls made to share the news. Paul says we have all been destined for adoption as God’s children, and though the adoption news was not a surprise to God, I do believe God was beyond excited when we came to the realization of this adoption. I don’t know if God had phone calls to make, but the scriptures are clear that the angels sing when even one person discovers the news.
Prayer: God, you are the One who chose to make the truth of our adoption known through the life and teachings of Jesus. Help us to live as a family who continues to welcome all who are coming to the realization of their adoption. Amen.
