Scripture: Proverbs 19:20
Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom for the future.

Thought for the Day: I am always thrilled when even two people want to come together for Bible Study, but yesterday around 70 people (in two sections) came together to begin a study of the Apostle Paul.  I am reminded of John Rockefeller who said, “…we are never too old to study the Bible.  Each time the lessons are studied comes some new meaning, some new thought which will make us better.”  There is more than a life-time of learning found in scripture, but the immensity of the task should not keep us from fully engaging.  I am overjoyed to see folks read a passage they’ve read 100 times before, yet there is something about this reading and the specific group of people and the movement of the spirit – and suddenly a new door is opened and a gem of truth is discovered in what seemed like old words just moments earlier.

Prayer: Lord, give me the courage and the time and the passion to study the grace-filled words of the Bible.  Allow their message to sweep over me with a novel insight of what it means to follow you and the ways of Jesus.  Amen.
