Scripture: 2nd Peter 1:2
May grace and peace be yours in abundance in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
Thought for the Day: It might just be me, but occasionally I’ll come across a passage of scripture that grabs my attention. I’ll read and reread it, and though I like what I’m reading, I’m not too sure why I’m drawing to it. Finally, I walk away from the passage thinking there is nothing relevant for my life right now. A period of time will pass, and then something happens and the words come alive. This was one of those passages, and in my time of need, the grace and peace spilled forth in great abundance. I would encourage you to tuck a few such passages into your spiritual coat pocket where they are easily accessible when needed.
Prayer: Provide me a few words of grace and peace, O God, so I might find encouragement along the pathway of life. Amen.

I have several such verses on sticky notes over my desk at home. If I think they may apply to something my children are going through, I text them with a verse I really like. My favorite is simply Be Still and Know That I Am God.
