Scripture: 1st Corinthians 5:8
Therefore, let us celebrate the festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Thought for the Day: The somewhat controversial author, Richard Wright, wrote that people “can starve from a lack of self-realization as much as they can from a lack of bread.” I’ve watched it happen more often than I’d like to admit – individuals feast upon those things that appear weighty and life-giving, only to discover that such things will leave them hungry as they lack that which gives meaning and purpose. Oh sure, people can be fooled for a time, but in the end, all of us must find an authentic sense of meaning. It’s interesting how Jesus used bread to nourish those who were hungry, and in doing so, provided insight into who they really were as children of God.
Prayer: Lord God, continue to provide all of us the substance for which our spirits crave. Amen.
