Thought for the Day: Tullian Tchividjian is an interesting minister with a bit of a turbulent past. The grandson of Billy Graham, Tchividjian has faced great criticism after divorcing his wife. With that said, he wrote:
The Gospel alone liberates you
to live a life of scandalous generosity,
unrestrained sacrifice, uncommon valor,
and unbounded courage.
The Gospel (Good News) – God’s liberating love -has the capacity to set us free from those things that attempt to bind us, including the self-imposed shackles that so often are the most restraining. For the sake of our sisters and brothers who are experiencing subjugation and oppression by so many different forces, we need to share the Gospel (Good News) in tangible and unmistakable ways. Otherwise, the message will go unnoticed and so many will remain in bondage.
Prayer: May the sweeping power of your love, O Lord, liberate all of humanity from the powers that seek to hold us in bondage. Amen.
