Scripture: Psalm 62:1-2
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall never be shaken.
Thought for the Day: As I’ve said many times before, Anne Lamott is one of my favorite authors. One of her quotes that I recently discovered says:
Almost everything will work again
if you unplug it for a few minutes,
including you.
How are you doing when it comes to unplugging? It probably looks a little different for each of us, yet so many of us are connected in some pretty unhealthy ways. What would it look like for you to wait on God in silence? Could you give 10 minutes today and just wait on God? I can’t say definitively, but I’m pretty sure you will discover in the end that it wasn’t you waiting on God. It was God waiting on you.
Prayer: Help me carve out some time this day, Mighty God. I need to spend some quality time listening for what you have been whispering to my spirit for longer than I’d like to admit. Amen.
