Scripture: Galatians 2:10
They asked only one thing, that we remember the poor, which was actually what I was eager to do.
Thought for the Day: The Apostle Paul was finishing up the first church council where there had been a great deal of debate on whether the Gospel of Jesus Christ was to be shared with the Gentiles. And if so, whether or not a Gentile had to first be circumcised before becoming Christian. Paul’s ministry to the Gentiles (not requiring circumcision) was finally accepted, but before Paul left, the others asked him a simple question, ‘Will you please remember the poor.’ This is one of those lines in scripture that summarizes it all. We can participate in some pretty heated debates, and even disagree in regard to the outcome. But in the end, all our differences in theology and practice need to be set aside so we can care for the least among us.
Prayer: Lord of All, may my head never get stuck in heaven and my hands miss an opportunity of bringing your Gospel to life. Amen.
