Scripture: Isaiah 57:19
I will comfort those who morn, bringing words of praise to their lips. May they have abundant peace, both near and far, says the Lord, who heals them.
Thought for the Day: What awesome words of reassurance, that no matter what happens, God will be there to help us! When we are in the valleys, He is there to pull us up on solid ground. As Jesus’ disciples, we are called to heal the sick – share that same compassion with others. You may say to yourself, I can’t heal a blind person or make somebody walk, but remember those kind words you shared with the tired cashier at the grocery store or the great casserole you brought over to your friend’s house after major surgery. Each of those is an act of compassion with a capital “C”. We forget that it is the little acts of compassion and kindness that matters most.
Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank you for your reassurance of comfort and healing when we need it most. May we share that compassion each day with others. In Jesus name, Amen.
