God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Thought for the Day: It all started with someone else. St. Augustine referred to God as the first mover, the One whose actions put our actions into motion. On this All Saints’ Day, I realize that I am moved to actions of compassion and love only because God acted first in the lives of others. The response to God by those individuals inspired another generation which inspired another and so on… There are days when I feel a bit of pressure, not from God, but from my own thankful awareness. I don’t want to be associated with a generation that sees this movement of God take a step backward.
Prayer: As I pray to you, O Holy One who first moved me, may I sense your spirit stirring me to actions of love and mercy. Amen.
