Thought for the Day: How hard is it to find God? According to St. Patrick, who preached in the 5th century, God is found everywhere for those who are looking. It was Patrick who wrote, “Christ beside me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ within me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me.” The earthly revelation of God, the Christ, has come close and continues to come close. The tangible love of God is not found in some heavenly realm, but in the daily expressions of love that the body of Christ (the church) offers. For those of us who are looking, it is found beside us, before us, behind us, within us, beneath us and above us…assuming the church is fulfilling its mission.
Prayer: Help me to recognize you, Lord God, as you are made real through the ongoing expression of the living Christ, the church. Amen.
