Scripture: Romans 5:6-8
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.
Thought for the Day: This is why Romans is such an amazing portion of scripture. Here we have another angle on the gracious activity of God through Christ. At Cypress Creek, we speak often of our vision of putting love first in all things, but we do so only because of God who first acted in such a way. We do so only as a thankful response to the gracious giving of God. The way of humanity is to wait and watch. As human beings, we tend to delay until someone proves his/her worthiness of the gift. God knew there was no reason to wait, for love by its very nature makes the initial move.
Prayer: While we were still weak and far away, you found away of entering our world and our lives. For this we are thankful, O Gracious and Merciful God. Amen.
