Scripture: Ephesians 5:18-20
Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit, as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, singing and making melody to the Lord in your hearts, giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thought for the Day: Have you ever had a song in your head that you couldn’t get out? Maybe it was the song on the clock-radio at 5:55am this morning. Hours later you find yourself humming it or tapping your foot to its beat. I heard a preacher years ago say, “Music sticks with you like a chive sticks in your teeth. It is there, but you probably don’t know it.” I listen to a great diversity of music, but I’ve learned how positive and joyful music (religious and secular) stick with me in a much healthier way. This type of music better shapes me into the person God desire for me to be.
Prayer: O Lord God, may joyful music fill my soul so I may reflect your joyful spirit. Amen.
