Scripture: Colossians 1:2
To the saints and faithful brothers and sisters in Christ in Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.
Thought for the Day: The word saint and the word faithful go hand in hand. Wherever you find saints you will find faithfulness, and wherever you find faithfulness, you will find saints. In the shadow of All Saints’ Sunday, take the time to look around and name those people who exhibit faithfulness. I’m guessing they would not consider themselves among the saints, but they are…they just happen to be humble and spend little time reflecting on their own good deeds. Allow their witness to enrich your life and strengthen your convictions. In doing so, you also will find yourself among the saints. I know you are saying to yourself, “I’m no saint!” That’s okay… that is what saints say all the time. And remember, saint doesn’t mean perfect.
Prayer: For all who live lives of faithfulness, O Lord, I give you thanks. May their saintly work encourage me in my own faithfulness. Amen.
