From Rev. June Stoker
Scripture: Psalm 98:1
O, sing unto the Lord a new song.
Thought for the Day: Why should I sing a new song? The old one is so familiar to me even though I tire of listening to it. It’s mine.
Every soul needs a new song of hope. A song that is light and upbeat. A song that allows me to meet with God and tune in to the vibrations of heaven. A song with positive energy to overcome my negative thoughts. A song of hope with gives inspirational power and invisible strength. A song to celebrate that God is still doing marvelous things.
I’ll go back to the garden when I first met the Lord. It was early in the morning while the dew was still on the roses. It was there He gave me a new song when my children grew up, when my husband went home to be with Him, when I accepted His call. It was there when the song was fresh, sweet, and meaningful. They were new because I had never been in these situations. New songs are important to new situations.
They were not all happy songs, but who says all songs have to be happy? I was told that a minor key is just as pretty as a major one.
A new song! Let’s sing a new song of faith and hope, of self-discovery or God-discovery, at every turn in the road, every station and resting place in life.
Ask God to give you a new song of faith and hope in every situation.
