Scripture: Psalm 92:1-4
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
Thought for the Day: I am not a singer, and though I was a high school musician, I no longer have those skills. For that reason, I am especially thankful for those who have the gift of music and are willing to share that gift with others. Last night, the sanctuary at Cypress Creek Christian Church was filled with beautiful music. I am convinced that many people were blessed by the experience, and are better prepared for the arrival of God’s gift that is coming again into the world. Music has a wonderful ability to both announce the Good News and draw the listeners into an experience of the Good News.
Prayer: Help me, Lord, find those events that will better prepare me for what this season truly means. There are too many distractions and alternative agendas, so please provide me those moments in which I see you and the gift you wish to share. Amen.
