Thought for the Day: Yesterday was the anniversary of the Wright Brothers’ first flight at Kitty Hawk. It was 1903, and there were many who mocked their ‘stupidity.’ Even some well-known scientists said, “It is impossible.” From the birth narratives through the empty tomb, we find people who looked into the unknown, and by the grace of God, were willing to take a step forward while others shouted, “It’s impossible!” Whether it is injustice around the globe, gridlock in Washington, hopelessness after a divorce, or joblessness in a bad economy, let us be a people who, by the grace of God, proclaim the belief that the impossible is possible with God.
Prayer: Provide me with a community, Gracious God, who will work with me to discover what is possible in moments when despair tells me nothing is possible. Amen.
