Ecclesiological Etchings

Scripture: Proverbs 10:9
Those who walk in innocence walk with confidence, but those on crooked paths will be found out.

Thought for the Day: Will they? How many folks who have walked the crooked path have gone their entire lives without anyone finding out? The Proverbs tend to be declarations of the way it should be, but we know it is not the way it always is. Does that mean words such as this are to be dismissed? I do not believe so, for we need to be people who believe in justice and integrity and fairness. Not only should be believe it could happen, but our lives should be lived as if it is the way it always works. Not that we avoid the crooked path because we will be caught, but because we believe in an alternative that brings confidence, a confidence that comes from walking in the ways of God.

Prayer: Lead me to a faith, O Spirit of Love, that genuinely seeks your ways for the simple reason that they are your ways. Amen.
