Ecclesiological Etchings

ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS
October 19, 2025
I want to use this Etching to offer a big and broad THANK YOU! Yesterday, we had one of the biggest memorial services we’ve hosted at Cypress Creek Christian Church since my arrival. The Centrum was full, but even more challenging was that it was a memorial service for a very young man. As much as one tries to be professional, making sure all the components are in place for any memorial service, there are moments when there is an additional heaviness that cannot be ignored. I am so thankful for everyone who helped make yesterday’s service happen, and people in attendance were clearly blessed by the whole experience — not only the service, but the care and hospitality that was demonstrated by the CCCC community. If I try to mention everyone, I’ll forget at least one or two… but you know who you are. Even more so, I pray that you truly understand the gifts you gave to a grieving family. Churches, and CCCC is no different, can get bogged down in some nonsense. It happens, but then there are moments when the church is truly Jesus’ church, embodying the message of the one who always found a way of putting love first. Again, thanks!

Holy and Magnificent God, I am thankful for generous and compassionate people who desire to bring together their gifts for the sake of the Gospel. Hurting lives are reminded again and again that people care. It does not erase the immense grief that is felt, but it allows an entry point into your loving presence. Thank you for being the inspiration behind everything we seek to do. Amen.
