Prayer for the Week:
There is a richness to your creation,
O Gentle and Merciful God.
There is beauty to what the world
would often call
strange or odd or weird,
A beauty that does not always lie
in the eye of the human beholder,
but in you, O God,
who be-holds us
in your loving embrace.
It is this love that seeks to fuel
the unique blessing incapsulated
within every living creature,
a blessing seeking purpose,
a blessing seeking a purpose
that conjoins with your purpose.
In this moment of time,
where so many feel distant from you
because of an unhealthy gospel
conceived from everything
that stands in opposition to your
everlasting forgiveness
and unconditional love,
Paint us a picture of your dream –
use the model seen in the Jesus-life
as the guide for the myriad of colors
that make your church.
